About Us

A free, honest platform built by someone who knows Ethiopia’s job market from the inside.

I have spent years working inside Ethiopia’s banking sector — starting as a trainee banker and eventually becoming a Branch Manager at Global Bank Ethiopia S.C. During that time, I sat across the table from hundreds of job applicants. I watched fresh graduates apply for positions they were perfectly qualified for, only to be turned away not because of their skills, but because of how the system worked against them.

I watched talented people pay money to recruitment agencies with no guarantee of a job. I saw vacancy announcements that were confusing, poorly formatted, or posted only in places that most ordinary Ethiopians never see. And I kept thinking: this does not have to be this way.

That is why I built ZemenJobs.

Branch Manager, Global Bank Ethiopia S.C. | B.Sc. Marketing | B.Sc. Accounting & Finance

I built ZemenJobs out of a real frustration I experienced working in Ethiopian banking and finance. With backgrounds in both marketing and accounting, I understand what employers want — and what job seekers need. This platform is my attempt to fix a broken system, one vacancy at a time.

What is ZemenJobs?

ZemenJobs is a free Ethiopian job board and career resource platform. We collect verified job vacancies from employers, NGOs, banks, manufacturing companies, and technology organizations across Ethiopia — and we publish them in one clean, easy-to-read place.

Whether you are a fresh graduate searching for your first opportunity, an experienced professional ready for a career change, or an employer looking to reach the right candidates — ZemenJobs is built for you.

No fees. No middlemen. No confusion.

Why did we create ZemenJobs?

Unemployment is one of the most pressing challenges Ethiopia faces today. Every year, thousands of graduates leave universities and enter a job market that is difficult to navigate. Many do not know where to look. Others find out about good opportunities too late — after the deadline has already passed.

On top of that, many recruitment agencies charge fees from both job seekers and employers. The people who can least afford it end up paying the most. And after all those fees, only a tiny fraction of applicants actually get hired.

“I have personally reviewed CVs and conducted interviews at a bank branch level. I know what a strong application looks like — and I know how many good candidates never get a fair chance simply because they did not know the right people or could not afford an agency.”

ZemenJobs exists to level that playing field. We believe every Ethiopian deserves access to job opportunities without paying a birr to find them.

How does ZemenJobs collect job listings?

We work directly with companies and organizations throughout Ethiopia to collect and share their open positions. We also monitor official employer websites, NGO portals, and public vacancy announcements.

Every vacancy we publish is reviewed before it goes live. We check for spelling errors, missing information, and formatting problems. Our goal is that every listing on ZemenJobs is professional, complete, and easy for any job seeker to understand and act on.

We also write original career advice articles drawing from real experience in the Ethiopian job market — covering topics like how to write a strong CV for an Ethiopian employer, how to prepare for bank and NGO interviews, and what Ethiopian HR managers actually look for when they review applications.

Our Promise to You

  • We will never charge job seekers or employers to use this platform.
  • We will only publish vacancies from legitimate, verified organizations.
  • We will review every listing before it is published.
  • We will keep building honest, experience-based career content for Ethiopian professionals.
  • We will always be transparent about how this site operates and earns revenue.

Transparency Note: This site is supported by advertising. We display Google AdSense ads to cover operating costs. That is what keeps ZemenJobs free for everyone. We are transparent about this and it does not influence which vacancies we publish or how we present them.

Who is ZemenJobs for?

ZemenJobs is for any Ethiopian who is looking for work, thinking about a career change, or simply wants to stay informed about opportunities in their field. We cover vacancies across Addis Ababa and regional cities, in sectors including banking and finance, NGOs and development organizations, manufacturing and industry, information technology, health care, and education.

We also write regularly about the Ethiopian job market — what is changing, which sectors are growing, and what skills employers are asking for most. If you are trying to build a career in Ethiopia, we want this site to be genuinely useful to you, not just a list of links.
